Question 1817 Items have protection disabled

I have tried to enable protection on the various items as a group, individually, or in smaller groups. No attempt works. The progress bar at the bottom shows that something is happening but when that is done, the boxes go back to being unchecked and items highlighted in red.

How can we fix this so that all items can be checked and protection enabled?

Thank you.

Cool Re: 1817 Items have protection disabled

Thank you for your questions, Snowbound.

Sorry i don't understand your reference to security apps. To what do you refer?

The only part affected is the restricted sites section.

Have a good day!

The icon i chose is supposed to represent my inability to see what's going on, i'ma thinking.

What i'm referring to is do u have any other anti-spyware programs installed.

Programs such as Spysweeper, Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware, IE SPYAD or any others?

This is important as there could be some overlap of protection causing this issue.

Actually I think that there are some more basic questions that should also be answered:
  1. When you load SpywareBlaster, at the bottom of the left hand pane there is a version number (Version x.y.z). What is the version?
  2. When you are in the "Protection" window ("Protection" selected in the left hand pane) in the right hand pane there is a statement:
    • SpywareBlaster database loaded: mm/dd/yyyy - nnnn items in database.
    • What are the values of mm, dd, yyyy and nnnn?

Given those frequently seen numbers....if you are using Spysweeper as snowbound inquired....then I would take a look at the Forum Sticky that Javacool posted.

This sticky---> Having trouble setting the Restricted Sites protection in SpywareBlaster? Read in...
