Will you have to uninstall version 3.5 or will the new 4.0 just install right over 3.5?
Thanks, |

4.0 can be installed and run in parallel to version 3.5

That means we can have BOTH 3.5 and 4.0 running at the same time? ![]() |

Really? To run both 3.5 and 4.0(beta) is recommended at user's risk only, I assume?

Good. I'm assuming this will reduce risk. If for some reason 4 beta doesn't protect you then 3.5 should still. |

Was the actual Build of 4.0 safe enough ? |

I just installed 4.0 beta. First I uninstalled 3.5 and created a restore point. I don't see any sense adding the new one on top of the old one. That just wastes system resources. I trust the old Ewido and I trust these guys not to release anything not safe. It's bound to have the same or better scanning engine that 3.5 had, and the definitions should be the same. Now that it's installed, I'm quite pleased with it. I had feared that memory usage and CPU's would be high. They did seem high until I updated my definitions and ran my first scan. Now in the task manager, guard.exe is at 4396 K and ewido.exe is at 2136K. My system configuration also includes Spysweeper and McAfee VirusScan, and they are all playing well together, just like with 3.5.
