Can anyone suggest a good program to capture screenshots ? Either free or a 30 day trial. I have to post some antispyware program results here at Wilders. ;)

I've never used this type of software before .... so I'm hoping also, for a "user friendly" application. :doubt:

whilst you await for replies for specific software....

why not use print screen key on your keyboard, then go to a program like paint and select edit> paste, save the image as a jpeg, etc

I don't use dont screen any seperate screen capture tools.

    hope this helps

Theses programs allow you a LOT more flexibility than print screen :D ... All depends of what you really need.

Well, I tried the one that was just above my second post .... the one nicM suggested ....Faststone Capture and was able to achieve results really fast.;)

Only thing, when I tried to upload more than 1 attachment into the same posting here at Wilders I did not have any success. I did manage to get the most important one done though.

However .... I'll have a look at all the other suggestions .... I guess it couldn't hurt to have more than one. :D

    Thanks again everyone.

You are only allowed one attachment per post on the forum.

if u want to post more than one pic, just place the images inline with the message using bbcode tags or just press the insert image button. as for screenshot programs, i just use the method described by betauser2. and if you only want to grab the topmost window, press alt and then print screen.

Do have a look at this topic too for a lot of other free ones as well as paid. :)
If you've got some money to burn, try the one I'm using.
SnagIt is the best IMHO.

Not free, but CaptureWiz Lite or Pro are very good IMO.

Ehmm, well, compared to printscreen, with a good screenshot program you can save time with features like automatic edges detection (window capture, etc), autoscroll, capture of every types of popups menus, text/arrows, choice of picture quality, size, etc, on the fly, before to save your picture.

With printscreen you've to edit the pic with a graphic program once the screenshot is saved. That's the main difference :) .

...plus with Faststone, the one I'm using, you get theses funny peeping eyes moving in your taskbar when the program is loaded :D , I really like it... lol

Ok I'm joking about this one, but I've noticed they did change the taskbar icon in version 2 for a very serious one... I'll mail them to tell I prefer the former icon :p ...
