Question Question about a company

Hello, I am looking for a alternative to Weatherbug Plus and I found this company: http://www.meteorlogix.com/products/ and I was taking a look at their products on that website. Can anyone go to that website please and let me know your thoughts and also if it is for home users as well as businesses?

Thanks,

Gracie

Hello Gracie,

It would seem to be oriented to businesses:

"Our commercial weather products bring a bottom-line value to decision-makers who need to protect people, property and profits from the ravages of weather."

They have a page of their clients:

http://www.meteorlogix.com/clients/client_lists.cfm

I didn't notice any prices.

What type of weather information do you need access to? Have you looked at the National Weather Service?

http://www.nws.noaa.gov/

From this page you can bookmark your state/county for alerts.

Another service is Weather Underground and it provides up-to-date info for your city:

http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/...ry=Los+angeles

Also, most states have a Weather Data and Products service for more specialized information. California has one at a university and you can bookmark a county:

http://www.ipm.ucdavis.edu/calludt.c...&ACTIVE=1&STN=

And it's all free. Of course, you don't get alerts, if that is something you need. But quickly accessed once you bookmark the links.

I may be wrong Gracie but it appears it's not software that we as Home users would be interested in. I found no download per say....only info of who to contact.

As mentioned above this seems to be more of a professional program setup. I am a professional weather guy myself. Weather Pulse is a pretty good little weather program if you give it some effort and set it up for your own needs. A good shareware program would be the Weather Channels Platinum program which has a 7 day trial period. It is Spyware and Adware free and a bit more expensive than Weatherbug but is way more configurable. Also look at some of the shareware and freeware programs on www.webattack.com...
