I am running the admin version of NOD32 v2.000.2. When I attempt to update to go v2.000.5, I receive the following error message:

Error occurred while updating program modules (Update has ended with error. (Return code 301))

The mirroring updates OK but not the computer that is running the admin version and it remains at v2.000.2. A pop up box keeps appearing asking to update to v2.000.5.

I have found a temporary workaround this problem. When the update box appears I have to disable mirroring, download the update and then the Nod32 admin version updates successfully to v2.000.5. All the virus definitions update like normal.

All my customers running NOD32 W98 admin version have the same problem. They are all running W98 SE and this problem is only with the admin version only when mirroring is enabled.

I also had this problem upgrading from the Beta version to the final release with the same error message.

    Hi Martin,

We all know no sw is perfect - Microsoft is proof of that :D :D - but how great does it feel when you find a problem and fix it. This forum is proof of that - it's the best i've found.

Like you said - I love it when it works (or something along those lines) :D

    Hi Buster,

    Absolutely true :D

Let's hope one of the Mods can send you the updated Imon.dll, hoping it will help you out, but in the meanwhile lets keep digging.

At his moment iam installing Win98 SE on an other pc, i just want to see if iam getting the same quirks, will let you know how things goes Buster.

    Hi Martin,

I've known about the winsock fix for a while and used it many times on customers' pcs - works like a charm. I tried it on my pc. It made no difference. Oh well back to the drawing board. o_O

I have tried the NOD32 admin version with mirroring enabled on several other pcs and they all have program update problems whenever there is an update available. This is definitely a program bug.

    Hi all,

sorry, this is really a small bug - it shoudln't happen often, just at the program component supdate. It will be fixed in the next components update - in a couple of days.

The temporary solution is - as you have already noticed :) :

    1. Disable Mirror (uncheck the "Create copies of update files" in the NOD32 CC->Update->Miror

    2. Update

    3. Restart the computer

    4. Enable Mirror - (reverse as in 1.)

    5. Update

    Hope it helps,

    Thanks, :)
