Engine Version 2.51.20 is out - where is the update?

I have program updates on "notify" but never saw a prompt to make that update. Is there any way to trigger it after-the-fact?

 

The latest automatic update was to version 2.50.25, for the Internet support module to v. 2.50.41. Manual update is not necessary unless you're getting an intermittent error "Downloaded file damaged" caused by Cisco routers.

 

I still am not getting the internet support update to 2.50.41. It is still showing 2.50.25, even with the latest updates. So where can i get this manually?

 

This is an appropriate time to re-enter into the topic I started and say thank you to Ronjor for answering my original question and thank you to Marcos for clarifying what all these version numbers are representing.

It looks like as of today they did just that:

for Windows NT/2000/2003/XP 32/64-bit - standard 2.51.20

BTW, my installed version is still 2.50.25 across the board -- there have been no slipstream updates made here, except with definitions. And there appears to be no way to trigger them.

I realize that there's apparently nothing much of interest in 2.51.20 relative to 2.50.25, but what if there was? I'd never have received the updates.

 

There is no difference, just the 32-bit and and 32/64-bit installers have been unified.

Here it show 2.50.44 for Windows 95/98/ME Base. Is it ok? or need an engine upgrade?

 

I'd like not to repeat the same in every other post - version 2.50.25 is the last one issued as an automatic component update. Automatic update for the Internet support module 2.50.41 brought a fix for a Windows Update issue. Version 2.51 just comprises additional 64-bit AMON/IMON drivers for Windows x64 and fixes an intermittent problem with Cisco routers, apart from that it's exactly the same as v. 2.50.41

Yes, but I think there's still an open question about why some of us never received the 2.50.41 Internet support module, which fortunately was the only piece pushed out.

Let's be hyptothetical for a moment and imagine there was something Very Important in one or more of the updates. We don't seem to be getting them.

 

Yes, I would like to have an answer too. I operate several installs of NOD32 and they all didn't get the 2.50.41 Internet support module. Could Eset please comment on that.

 

I need an answer too. Please why my nod32 Internet support module is still 2.50.25? It is all so confusing!

Well I downloaded the 2.51.20.... and since thats all thats now available and it has XP included in its description..I installed it.

It works perfect on my XP machine.

In an effort to be less confusing, they changed all of them to 2.51.20...
Unfortunately that only confused those who knew it as the older name.

Mine didn't auto update to the newer program either... but you know what?... I've ran NOD for 2 years now and its "never" updated a component update yet.

I quit looking for it... I just look on thier page from time to time and if I see a version # update, I download it and install it.

It installs over my previous 2.50. just perfect.

I did the same, though I'm not 100% certain I "needed" to do so. These multiple version numbers are confusing me, so I figure I might as well have the "latest & the greatest".

 

I had an issue with the IMON turning off on its own from time to time... this version hasn't done that to me yet.

 

I had this issue only once with version 2.50.25 (IMON turning off from time to time). Reinstalling fixed it for me.

 

Not me.... and I monitor several computers that use it... the older version alway messed up... occasionally, on some more than others...but so far to my knowledge this version has not has that problem.
runs flawlessly so far.

 

I'm using the "boxed" version of NOD32 2.5 in Windows ME. Should I install this newer version? I bought mine through a reseller here in the USA.

Glad to know that. It once disappeared before my eyes, I was reaching over to check it and it went into thin air as if.

 

Wow.. I never had it disappear...only turn off.

 

Do you know whether uninstalling, rebooting, deleting eset folder in program files, then reinstalling, would my old (Sept. '05) user name and password work when I enter them? Or should I install over the top to preserve the validity of my subscription?

your username and password links to Nods servers to verify and validate your credibility as a paid customer.

That info is not on your system... or if it is "which I doubt" its not used to verify.

You can install over the top, or do a complete uninstall and reinstall the newer version. To prove the point that it is not dependent upon stored info on your computer, you can even reformat and reinstall the new version if you like.

All versions work for the type of license you own.

If you have renewed recently.... just use the password for the renewal.... I dont think you even need the original one anymore as it will not work even on a fresh install.

All of your interactions are happening with the server from Nod.
