Default C:\Windows and D:\Windows

Hi, after I've cloned successfully my Windows XP System on my second hard drive, I made a mistake how I know yet and started up my system with both Hard drives online.
Now Windows boots from C: but uses some Files from D:\Windows, the original partition. How do I change now all values to C:\Windows ?

I made a similar mistake - you have to perform the clone after booting from the CD - the WIndows TI client will assign a new drive letter and there is no way to fix that.

No way!? But when my system was made to look at the wrong destination, there must be a way to make it look at the right... well that's my hope. The new image isn't bootable (as I even read maybe out of the same reason) but I have to rescue this system - that's why I us TI for backup!

You start RegEdit and go through ALL (all - all 100,000) references in the registry where it says D:\ and changes that to C:\

Then you go through all the configuration files, all the INI-files, all the blah-blah files and changes every D:\ to C:\

And when you have done that, there will still be 20,000 references hidden in shortcuts, in obscure binary files, in data files, that read D:\ and not C:\.

In other words: Mission Impossible.

I hope the new year will bring you lot of happy moments and very few restores.
