Question Have you tried Foxie Firewall?

Actually I'm confused if this thing was really a Firewall or not. It just happens when I downloaded and installed the new version of Startup Mechanic 2.5 from download.com and this was "bundled" and during initial stage of installation of Startup Mechanic it ask me if I want to install also the Foxie Suite... then I also installed it. And after the installations, it added some toolbar in my Internet Explorer browser and it says that it'll make my IE functions like Firefox... maybe they are right, it really looks and functions almost the same. It has many features but those things I can also found on my other utilities.. it looks interesting though.

Their website is getfoxie.com.

But, still I am not sure if this thing is really good... please check it out coz I'm not expert on investigations on new things especially if its not popular and has no users review on it yet. But what really confuses me was that after intall, the tray icon says it is a Foxie Firewall... but still my Windows firewall was still running... unlike other firewalls that integrates into the Windows Security Center that automatically turn off the Windows firewall.

Did you already knew this Foxie Firewall?

Here's the link: http://www.getfoxie.com/#Features

I don't trust stuff like this. Tries to do way too many things all bundled into one program. Can't be good at any of them I would think...

I am a little bit suspicious w this suite software.... that maybe this was another creation of Firefox team coz their symbol looks a bit similar to Firefox (so as their brand name), or maybe Microsoft has some kind of satellite team to make something to at least improve their Internet Explorer browser to pull down Firefox?

Stay clear of them. Actually a nice idea of Firefoxing IE but I can tell you then used to say "support Mozilla Team" in their paypal "invite" and of course money was directed to their own account. Reason enough to block site. I have read about a Mozilla guy saying they were considering taking legal actions so guess the faked "Mozilla" angle has been erased. As noticed here http://djst.org/blog/2005/09/05/more-on-foxie/ Before they came up with this product I read site was a real mess with spyware and such - then suddenly it turned into Foxie or another IE shell. Try search www.mozillazine.com forums for more, I dont remember more details. Find something else is best advice I think. May be clean today but they sure have not allways been and perhaps they change politices again.

Btw, they suggest you go write review at download.com Can you find it there? May be it has been kicked out? Why would they do that?

Ah forgot, the blog link reminded me. They also rip off old version of CCleaner. May be that has been modified or hidden better today but again they used to steal. Go to neowin.net for screenshots comparison, I remember some guy showed a comparison. If you know CCleaner check this pic of "Privacy Cleaner" http://www.getfoxie.com/feature/privacycleaner/
