Thanks for the info. With the possibility of conflict maybe I will just run MBAM on demand, although I would hate doing that.

I'm running both (after making the aforementioned exclusions) and can assure you there's no conflict. If I remember correctly, one of the MBAM employees mentioned using Kaspersky himself on their forums.

Do I need to uninstall MBAM first and then re-install after Kaspersky?

I had no problems when installing KAV the other day, but it couldn't hurt I guess.

I was going to try Kaspersky a few days ago, but that ended when it deleted MBAM, one of my favorite programs. The install said it was going to delete conflicting software, but didn't say which one, took me a while afterwards to see that it was MBAM. Doing a little reading online I found that's been a long-running problem, seems like Kaspersky would have done something about it by now.

Thanks to the timely comments here I'm going to give it another try tonight, using the instructions that The Seeker linked to.

Interestingly, I tried Kaspersky AV today also.
Unfortunately it blue-screened on me during install... which in retrospect is okay because I wouldn't have appreciated it removing MBAM.
I checked KAV's non-compatible software list and if MBAM was on there, I missed it.
I'd already removed VIPRE, so I grabbed a copy of avast free just to hang an AV on my machine.
Much to my surprise, avast installed a reputation plugin (WebRep) which I knew nothing about, not having followed avast for a long time. I uninstalled it because I already have a couple such apps running.
Anyway, I don't know how long I'll keep avast on here, but it is definitely a nice, easily configurable AV... albeit with not very great detection.
I'll probably have another go at KAV in the not-to-distant future, after I swap out my HD, which is a small project I've been putting off.
