ok I am wrong......I'm not a hater of any product or fanboy.....just saying that products like wsa is far better and faster than the lion which is rarely seen in anyone's zoo nowadays......about the fw....I did not say it's not being actively supported or effective....but there are other fw more effective and more rapid at finding new ways of preventing attacks.....I think and it is solely my opinion .....the lion is falling behind in the race....... @22ndcitysaint thx buddy....

Trying something different that might be just as light and hopefully more powerful: removed Mamutu and Windows7 Firewall Control and added Privatefirewall and PandaCloud.

I had to leave Privatefirewall behind.
It was leaving port 135 open with default settings. Although I am behind a router, which closes the open port, I sometimes disable the cable modem and router to check on how the firewall will do with my dial-up backup connection. If it can't close all ports out of the box, I don't have the skill nor the time to configure it (though I did try some suggested settings involving modifying the svchost location service rules to deny traffic). No dice. Back to OA on both machines.
