I use one box that only has only these for security setup.

AntiExecutable = Instant BLOCK any executable not whitelisted.
PC Security = Locks/Conceals any FILE/FOLDER/DRIVE of system
SandboxIE = Traps anything entering via IE channel.
Kerio 2.15 = Dependable Rules-Configurable Network Monitor.

Wow to yourself and smartcard!
Refreshing to see the use of a few programs compared to some who need an index just to keep track of what they're running.

I just bought BitDefender Total Security 2008 (3 computers / 2 years) and will be installing it on my laptop soon. Not sure what other resident software to run with it; currently debating on either BOClean or SAS Pro, possibly along with Threatfire.

Isn't there overlap with both Prevx and Threatfire?

Yes, but everyone is always asking me if these play nice together.... so in order to answer them truthfully... the overkill!

The main difference between the two is PREVX doesn't pump out Key logger FP's every twenty minutes...

Since the k is long gone, this is my set up now:

AVG Plus FW
BOClean
WinPatrol Plus
SpyWareBlaster
SpyWareGuard

SuperAntiSpyware-on demand only

BootBack and EAZ FIX Pro for restore.

All behind a Linksys Router

Made one adjustment.
Took out AVG Firewall and added OnLine Armor free.

I would dump anything that kicked out FP's even daily.

Yes... But in fairness this Threatfire is actually incredibly useful to those unwilling to dish out a few $$$ for proper defenses. For something free It actually works. Just a few glitches on how it handles Keyloggers. Besides If more users had it installed it would go a long way in reducing malware proliferation.

Yes I know. Check #1602. I was commenting on the FP-headache. No issues with TF. PrevX is another story for me, although I haven't tried the upgraded version.

What happened with the old PREVX (I'm only really familiar w/v2.0) Tried the old and removed fairly quickly as I was simply testing a rather large number of utilities. This round I felt more comfortable with it. Enough so that I signed in to become a reseller...

It slowed my 1G/ram 2.9Ghz to a crawl and often failed to load on reboot. Back then I didn't have the patience to try to find the conflict. I'd like to give it a spin again some day by itself, and my router of course.

Delars,

Realtime
You have good a wel respected FireWall (Comodo), a good free AV (Antivir), a reasonable to good AS (SpywareTerminator) with a nice IDS and easy HIPS and a AT memory scanner (BOCLean). SO your are covered all the way.

A Wilders Member alway says "do not fix it when it is not broken", so when you are happy with it keep it that way.

PC behind a hardware FW (NAT + SPI)

- ThreatFire with custom rules http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=191802
- DefenseWall with P2P download directories, sdefend and 7ZIP marked as untrusted
- AVAST free, only three forward checking modules enabled (Web, P2P, I-net Mail) on high

I do not care about black lists, but the forward checking (e.g. Avast's scanner checks web content before it is executed) capabilities of Avast and update frequency makes it sensible for me to use.

Loading and browsing of Opera is real fast on this Athlon 3900 PC.

3. A-Squared Anti-Malware v3 full version with realtime guard(free 12 month updates with the latest PC Advisor magazine.).
