Since you're looking for this sort of isolation apps, have you given Sandboxie a try before?

Yeah I've tried it all. I switch things around and have tried different combo's. I'm just not as vocal about it as some people are.

I might find my way back to sandboxie or geswall. Comodo is getting rather good these days. I like geswall policy restriction though. Very tight.

  • Linksys WRT54G2 router built-in firewall
  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit built-in firewall
    Using Administrator account; DEP and SEHOP are enabled for all processes and programs; UAC is on always notify; Windows Defender is disabled; using Internet Explorer 9 beta
  • ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4.2
  • Hitman Pro 3.5
    both licenses end on the 12th of january
It might be possible the Windows firewall will be replaced, depending on what I do when my current ESET NOD32 Antivirus ends, there are three possibilies:
  1. continuing current setup;
  2. replacing ESET NOD32 Antivirus by a free antivirus;
  3. upgrading to ESET Smart Security.

I also seems the most interesting option to me, at this moment. But I am not sure, Antispam is of absolutely no value to me. Also I am perfectly happy with Windows firewall.
Since ESET 5 is on the horizon it might change then. That is why I asked several times on the ESET forums about the future changes to the featureset of both products, it is a shame that they don't want to disclose any information about ESET 5. If they did, option 2 (replacing ESET NOD32 Antivirus by a free antivirus) wouldn't exist. The only thing we known which will be included in ESET 5 is Parental Control, which is just like Antispam of no value to me.

Yes, I my self have stopped asking questions about version 5.0 since I know what the answer will be Even though I agree with you that more info from ESET would really be nice.

I personally haven't heard anything official that Parental Control will be included for sure? What's your source?
But I got a feeling that we will see something more included apart from Parental Control.

Default Re: What is your security setup these days?

that is the only way you know what you are trying without asking others i am the kind of person that i try it and prove it my self type of person
anyway so far i tested all and in long time the software that really convince me so far it is Prevx,winpatrol plus and spyshelter i love this 3 programs
the rest for example Defensewall,appguard and mbam pro

note:this six programs are my faborites programs ever but the diference is this:prevx,winpatrol,spyshelter are 64 bit system ready with out any trouble or slow down

note:the second group:defensewall,appguard,mbam pro

now for example Defensewall is not 64 ready ,appguard is beta and has some bugs now mbam pro is 64 ready and the detention rate is one of the best and in windows vista and win7 is super fast but in my xp systems is very slow and make my browsing slow in xp systems

another note:PE Guard it is in my heart but i want 64 bit system ready i will wait for this one

also i am testing geswall and i already fall in love with and it will be 64 ready

for now my set up will be prevx,spyshelter and winpatrol plus

But I got a feeling that we will see something more included apart from Parental Control.
Directly after the launch of version 4 (sometime ago already), they released a YouTube video. In that video some people of ESET were interviewed about that release version, the company and the future. They said something like "Parental Control might be a good addition in the future". Also in SoftPedia interview they said something like that I think.
Next to that I mentioned it sometimes in the ESET forums, and they never denied it.

I also got the feeling ESET version 5 will bring a great improvement, which will make it top-notch again, like three years ago and where ESET belongs. What exactly I don't really know, it might be sandbox-based or behavior-based (maybe in combination with reputation-based? Who knows?). I personally prefer behavior-based, since I am not a huge fan of sandboxing.

Hmmm... I remember that I DID watch the video, AND read the interview and yet I can't remember that they did mention anything about parental control

And let's hope that I am right since we really don't need Parental Control in ESS

Well, CIS is now gone and back to ESS.

Just lighter on the system and ESS performs so much better than CIS in the tests I've done. I like CIS and I think it's getting better, but it's not quite there yet.

Then we are two. And I have suggested something behavior-based in the suggestion thread in the ESET forum several times.

And I have seen more BB suggestions than I have seen Parental Control suggestions that's for sure

interesting.. If you set the execution of unknown to restricted or blocked in CIS you will see the difference.Anyways how is ESS against zero day malware?
