No, version 2.1.0.131 is not the latest, it was the final/stable version before V3. Version 3.0.0.190 is the latest which you can get via the site. I have not tested EQSecure with version 3.0.0.190, because that version is not automatically downloaded. (I will only start using version 3.0.0.190 when it will be downloaded automatically.)

Awesome, keep me up to date. I did beta test the early V3 and liked it very much . Hopefully it will work for you as well.

I did test pctools in the past, I do not know which version they have now, but the one I tested was horrible. For me that is. Most people said that it was easy to understand but I did not experienced that. I also experienced slowdowns with the version I tested(can't remember the version). But back then let's say 3-4 months ago I did not have 'sufficient' knowledge regarding security programs, not that I do now though. So I suppose you yourself should test it, or someone who has tested/is using the latest version should reply.

I think we have a new trjam. You seem to change your setup quite frequently these days.

Jmonge has been changing his security setup frequently for over a month now I think.
Seems that he won't ever find his perfect setup.

No stones will be thrown here; a lot of us are like that. As to your firewall, I distrust Symantec so I would never use PCTools. I like Kerio 2.15 (he says as the security-aware cringe). It can use time-sensetive rules.

Yes, I too are looking for a setup in which I don't have to worry.
At least, until some new malware comes which is able to crush HIPS and virtualization with ease.

Ready for a Shock?

ADDED:

AVIRA AV [Free]

As one who is been 100% AV free w/o incident ever since System Safety Monitor first surfaced and started this exciting HIPS revolution in full force and set a standard of sorts for others to create HIPS and former firewall makers to integrate them now, i can safely say that Avira AV is gladly welcome as a "Resident" running AV protector on some of my many units, and i have no one to credit but the many members of you right here who drilled your praise of this AV so much that i couldn't resist the urge to see for myself. I must say i'm not disappointed in the least.

Et tu Easter? Why? I really don't see the need. With an strict HIPS and some sort of virtualization there is no need for a resident scanner. On-demand I can see, but not resident.

Understood.

However every PC user realizes positive results from their own respective experiences.

Mine, as most others, is always been the classic and solid Layered Approach. Before KIS6, i never realized a stable but dependable AV you could run resident as well as tandemed with other security soft measures w/o sacrificing performance/resources in some form or fashion.

However, now that i've tried and tested Avira, i can personally verify what others are satisfied over with this AV, and its that its "LITE", which makes all the difference for some.

With a "lite" AV that can truly & successfully co-exist with other security apps such as an independent HIPS + Behavioral Blocker, etc as a choice circle of prevention, for example without sacrificing effectiveness, this type of Layered Approach can be quite acceptable as well as effective, SRP/LUA notwithstanding.

And as an added bonus, and IMO only, this particular approach can prove much safer then relying on a single Suite AV, which some have now integrated in their AV apps with both a firewall and HIPS as a Pro-Active measure.

Variety is the essence IMHO because no one product can claim top honors as an ALL-IN-ONE that can't be successfully challenged.

If you knew the sites my sister and dad go to you would like as much protection as you can get

I have 2GB of RAM as well as a pretty new computer, so it's all good. And I can even play Far Cry 2 with all of it running Although it does lag a bit
