Damn, 25000 posts.

Win7x64 setup seems perma-sussed on MBAM real-time and Comodo w/o local AV. Throw in the standard on-demands, hardening, SBox and imaging: this is hard to f'n hit, IMO. Resource usage is nil.

So that leaves me with now perfecting Slackware and the new Solaris 10 stuffs I'm still kicking the tires on.

Anyhow, if you can not secure your boxes based on all the previous advice here--godspeed. Excellent and timeless thread you Wilders' folks are providing.

Thanks to all...it helps a lot. I can check in now and then and see if I am missing any major gear. & That's a good thing *martha*.

Cheers.

LOL J. Panda is stomped on you heavy huh? Well what were you thinking? It's Panda....and it knows Kung Fu...you should have been careful J.

If you use Spyshelter Premium/Exe Radar Pro with MBAM PRO, Sbie, HMP and a backup solution you got nothing to worry. That would be strong enough to keep away malware.

How do you like it? How is Kingsoft AV doing there? Is it really compatible with other AVs? How much ram and CPU does it eat in your pc?

I'll have to take Panda off and go back to Comodo Internet Security. Although the new changes in Panda are nice, I feel a difference in startup times as well as the occasional slowdowns. Comodo never made my system feel this way, so back to CIS I go.

Sorry Panda

I took off Panda Just because of it's high I/Os.
MSE is definitely the lightest AV I've ever used, and KAV there will definitely catch what is missed.

@IronMan
Yes it is compatible with most AVs if not all with the exception of VIPRE
RAM: 12k
CPU: 0%

KAV is definitely a very light AV. The installation takes like 2 seconds and the GUI is super responsive. I honestly think it's lighter than MSE.

Panda for some reason made my fast machine feel a bit slower, I had to take it off.

In the process of choosing a new setup, trying to decide between two of my favorite setups (Listed in my sig)

Yeah I've read that quite a lot. People are all over different forums complaining of slowdowns and high I/Os. I guess Panda Team did not give attention to this aspect seriously enough. I hope they'll soon fix it and make Panda light and fast as it should be.

I would suggest the latter setup with a flavor of the toxic sbie.

It's disappointing too, because the new version has some promise, other than the slowdowns and occasional freezing of course.

A fix needs to be issued out asap.

Both are great setups and provide great protection. That's what is making it hard to choose lol

I was referring to the Real-Time aspect of my setup. I don't plan on changing my On-Demand any time soon (Which includes Sandboxie).

The Avast setup is stronger imo. Good luck with choosing the right one.

Oh I see.

I've ran the Avast, MBAM PRO and Online Armor setup before and it was extremely powerful.

I also had great experiences with the Comodo setup as well.

But to try something new again, I might do the Avast, MBAM PRO and Online Armor setup.

I may give RunSafer another chance too.

Are you talking about the password part?

Remembering the activation password and no auto updating are the only thing's I really can't stand about NVT ERP.

I have the key automatically inserted but when I try to reactivating by putting in my password and then putting in a new one and click re-activate the window closes and nothing happens

No need for RunSafer when you've got sbie.
