How do I remove the blank page in the desktop?

I have this problem, my friends laptop I used Spysweeper and clean his registry and succesfully removed over a thousand of malwares spywares adwares you name it. But the desktop is white. And before there was a warning that would say the computer is infected click here and it would be all blue and in the midlle black with the letters red saying the computer is infected. I removed it but the desktop is still white. HOw do I fix this problem?
