i have a 40 gig drive divided into 2 X 20g partitions. FAT32 each. i install win98 to the first one no problem but when i go to install winME to the next it says that it can't install because it is an OEM copy and not meant to go on a machine with an existing copy of windows. i have tried hiding the 98 partition and making the ME partition active but then during the install process ME reports that the partition is not formatted (even though it is) and then during format it quits with a Format error.
How do i completly hide the first partition from ME?? i have installed 98 to c: and i want to be able to install ME to drive letter c: in its own partition. is this possible? ie- 98 be on c: and ME also be on drive letter c: but in a different partition |

Hello PinkyWinky,
Thank you for your interest in Acronis Disk Management Software. Please read chapter 8.2 "Installing several Windows copies to a single PC" of the users guide. During the installation of Windows ME by means of OS Selector you will be able to hide your Windows 98 partition from it (chapter 7.7 "Setting operating system properties"). Thank you. -- Semyonov Vasily
