Hi,
I purchased DDS9 and finally decided to try it out. I also chose to load the OS Selector. When I rebooted, I find that I can see my 2nd HD just fine but it keeps telling me I need to reformat it now. There is data on it and it is in NTFS file format. In my panic, I uninstalled DDS9 and tried a system restore but no joy! When I use True Image, it shows that my 2nd HD has data on it, but now how to get my XP SP2 O/S to recognize the drive and read the data Hope I've covered enough history and if more information is needed, let me know. I sure hope there is a solution to this. I do have a backup - if it works - but it isn't as current as I would like it to be~!! Thanks for any step by step directions you can offer now! Skitter |

Hello Skitter,
Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Management Software. Could you please do the following? - Download Acronis Report utility from http://www.acronis.com/files/support/AcronisReport.exe; - Run Acronis Report utility and select the "Create bootable floppy" option; - Insert a blank floppy disk in the floppy drive and proceed with creating the bootable diskette; - Boot the computer under consideration from this diskette and wait for report creation process to complete; - Send us the report.txt file from the floppy disk. This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure. Please collect the information requested above and contact us from our web-site: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/support/ . Please don't forget to send the link to this thread along with gathered information. This would allow us to investigate the problem and help you with the solution. Thank you. -- Semyonov Vasily

Will it require a reload of this program? Will I need to reattach my 2nd hard drive before I load the program? And then run the boot disk that is created with your downloaded program What do you suggest I should do now. I don't want to mess up my main hard drive by experimenting. I'll wait for your reply before I proceed!TIA Skitter |

Hello Skitter,
You should create a bootable diskette from Windows using the Acronis Report utility (as it was described in my previous answer to this thread) then attach your second hard disk drive and boot your computer from the created diskette. When we get the report.txt file from the diskette we will be able to tell you what exact is going wrong with your system and provide you with a possible workaround. Thank you. -- Semyonov Vasily
