Default NOD32 Version 2 Breaks cygwin xfree86

Hi folks,

After upgrading from NOD32 v1 to v2, I discovered there is some kind of conflict that was not there before with the cygwin implementation of XFree86. Whenever I try to run the X environment with NOD32 v2 installed it fails with signal 11. I also verified that this behavior goes away if I uninstall NOD32 v2.

Here is some additional information from cygwin (xinit.exe.stackdump):

Exception: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION at eip=01682E25

Also, here is my system information from NOD32:

There was also a brief mention that some anti-virus software (e.g., McAffee) does not behave well with cygwin. Their FAQ is located at http://cygwin.com/faq.html (see http://cygwin.com/faq/faq_4.html#SEC62 for the anti-virus reference).

Hey dbergst,

we'll check that,

Thanks,

Jan,

Thanks, that would be greatly appreciated.

PS - I would like to compliment the NOD32 development team for its efforts to create such a fine product. Your responsiveness to users that post here on Wilders Security Forums is commendable. I truly wish more software companies would work this way. I recently came on board as a licensed user while version 1 was the official release, and am very happy with the enhanced interface and features in version 2.

Jan - have you heard back from the NOD32 developers on this issue?

Hi,

>Jan - have you heard back from the NOD32 developers on this issue?

Well, they are busy also with other issues:

- does any body else have this problem?

- is anybody running cygwin xfree86 fine with NOD?

Thanks,

jan
