i know this maybe a silly question but...

Not a silly question at all. Some products, especially for major upgrades require clean installs. For others, clean installs are advisable even if not required.
But to answer your question, I recall Jan (I think it was?) saying that version 2 was designed to be installed on top of NOD 1. I can't find that post at the moment but it's up to you if you want to go ahead and install on top or do a clean install. I'm not yet sure which I'll do. |

I did a clean install. No problems other than had to change the settings in my e-mail program, but this is stated on the Eset web-site.
The Eset web-site also appears to recommend an install over the top of version 1. Nice program is Version 2 !!! ![]() |
