Default My Computer is too loud....what to do?

hey guys;

here are my computer's specs:
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (Sp2 installed)
Case: NETLINK 18IN 350W ATX 3688 CASE /W FRONT USB PORT P4 READY
Motherboard: ASUS A7V880 SOCKETA KT880 DUAL DDR AGP 5PCI SATA SOUND 1000LAN MOTHERBOARD
CPU: AMD ATHLON XP 2100+ 256K 266FSB SOCKET A RETAIL BOX (running at 1800+, because at 2100+ my computer crashes)
CPU Heatsink: VANTEC AEROFLOW SOCKETA cpu cooler TMD 5600RPM 35.5CFM
Memory: 1GB PC2700 DDR333 SAMSUNG RAM
Video Card: ABITR9550-128CDT RADEON 9550 128MB DDR AGP8X
Hard Drives: 2 X ( WD CAVIAR 80GB INT ATA/100 HD 3.5LP 9MS 8MB 7200RPM OEM)
Anti-virus: Nod 2.50
Firewall: Zone Alarm Pro 6.0
cASE FANS = 4 FANS (2 INFLOW, 2 OUTFLOW)[b]
These case fans are $10 each from London Drugs.

My comptuer makes too much noise.....It is hard to hear anything else. What do you guys think is? Is it heatsink? or hard drives.....

My guess is, it's the fans.

I custom built my machine and it has 4 fans, plus the 2 fans on the Power Supply. It is somewhat loud, but I can still have a conversation without screaming over it...hahaha.

You could always pop the cover of the case off while it is running and use your ear to pinpoint the source of noise

My box has 7 fans and is very quiet. The only time it gets noiser is when the CPU heat sink gets to dusty and the fan speeds up. I clean it out about every 6 weeks. You might try giving the inside a good cleaning.

If it sounds like when you used to put baseball cards in-between the spokes of your wheels on your bicycle, it's most likely a broken fan.

With a $10 priced fan you cannot expect a low-noise fan...

Two solutions:

1) Buy decent low-noise fans

2) Take AvianFlux's cheap solution
