Default Are you using Diskeeper 9?

At present I’m just using Diskeeper Lite and I felt good w/ it, but the regular defragmentation process of doing it manually is becoming a boring repetitive tasks. I’m planning to get the full version or the Diskeeper 9 for its automatic defragmentation feature. But I’m not really sure if this function is really safe, good enough and worth purchasing. What’s your personal experience of using it for a many months/years?

I have it on my works PC.
It is worth it for the fact you can trust it to get on with its job of defragging in the background.
Yes it is totally safe, as it uses functions of the OS (in win nt/xp/2k etc) to move the files (diskeeper in this case just directs the OS where to move the files to).
Been using DK 9 for 3 months.
I have found a defrags once or twice a day in my case, runs for 10 mins tops, at a guess it only trys to defrag 80% perfect rather than spending ages defragging perfect, and I think this is because diskeeper claims thats all thats needed to be done and I tend to agree.

You should also check out mst defrag and also o&o defrag, trial them all and see which you prefer.

Hi Chaos16

One of the best features I like is that you can set it so it starts to defrag anytime your screensaver is active.

I've been using Diskeeper for quite awhile (ver 7-9) and I swear by it.

The "Set it and forget it" is priceless at keeping the system defragmented.

I highly recommend it and run it on all my machines.

Diskeeper might have a faster deframenting process but PerfectDisk has better performance results. Well worth the money..

Hi Rawr

I agree totally. I trialled PerfectDisk,Diskeeper, and O&O. One thing that really speeds up PerfectDisk, is to be sure your offline, and turn off things like KAV,ProcessGuard, and other software that monitors stuff. It's almost a 50% improvement.
