I just did a differential backup, file is 318kb...and yet to validate it is takes 45 mins and still going - seems like a very long time!
System: P4 3Ghz (FSB800) HTT Bios v2.2 Kingston DDR 400 (512x2) 875P Neo-FIS2R SATA: WD Raptor 740AD (Ser 1) - Maxtor 6B100M0 (ser 2) PATA:IDE 1 (Master) WD 1600JB - (Slave) Maxtor 40LO TDK CDRW 5201B - BENQ DVD LS DW1655 (IDE 2) Dell Monitor 2407WFP AO3 ATI Radeon 9550 256 MG DDR W2K Pro Sp4 - all latest updates Antec True Power 550 +5/40A; +12/24A; +3.3/32A; MAX output 530Watts |

I'm afraid TI doesn't just validate the most recently created differential. It validates the complete archive each time i.e. the original Full image plus all differential images associated with it. Regards |
