When was that?

They have opted out since those results.

Maybe they will reconsider and go for testing in AV comparitives again.

I hope so.

I tend to agree. Norton seems to do pretty well but when looking at the AV-C tests and the AV-Test results Kaspersky seems to be tops. Especially when looking back over many months of results as they appear to be very consistent. Bitdefender appears to be a little more erratic in their results.

Another clue I like to use is the user ratings at Amazon. Norton, Bitdefender and Kaspersky all have reviews by hundreds of users but Norton and Kaspersky both have the same higher rating than Bitdefender.

Those results appear to be from 2011. Still valid just not quite up-to-date as they have declined to participate in more recent tests.

Actually my records show Norton reached Advanced + in both on demand and in retrospective testing back in 2010.

Later this year we should get the Heuristic results for non signature malware. That is of great interest to me.

I hope Norton rejoins the testing. MS, McAfee etc are all there so what is their problem?

AV comparatives indicate in their reports they are a non profit organization which increases their credibility IMHO.

As soon as the next reports come out I'll revist the issue.

Apparently Kaspersky does not consider Avira or G Data rivals.

They even state it is an outdated test, but then they blatantly lie about the results because they know most people won't bother to check them so what really matters in the end is their claim: Kaspersky is number one (misinformation + disinformation).
