Hi
about Outpost Firewall Pro , is better the last v7 version or the new v8 ? i mean outpost it's famous to release lots' of updates to fix bugs i was an outpost user since 2.5 i tried both , seems v8 looks more light in ram and cpu consume but i'm worried with v8 to update the program every 2 weeks do you think it's better to install the lavst v7 or go with the more light v8? i would appreciate it a lot! thanks

I've been using V8 since it was released, and it's running light and fast. So was V7.

I never ran version 7, but version 8 doesn't seem to slow things down for me. The total I/O of acs.exe averages around 400kB/s - 900kB/s which is higher than my prior firewall. It's the largest background application on my system in terms of I/O (used to be TrueCrypt at ~25kB/s). I would be more concerned with the impact that total I/O will have on your system over the RAM consumption.

Look 'n' Stop combined with Malware Defender. I'm sure Malware Defender added some I/O too, but it blocks Process Hacker/Process Explorer from even seeing what it is. I think you'll be happy with Outpost 8 - it's a very nice firewall.

thanks! look and stop is really very light ![]() don't like outpost 8 install visual c++ (i can't remember the version) because i'm really full of visual c++ , it's really unpleasant! i don't know if you are new to outpost , it was one of the best firewall but prettily, handsomely Buggy i had lots of issue with outpost so i think outpost 8 will be really stable in the future release , and i don't like to upgrade at every release v7 i think it's rock solid , maybe more ugly but well tested

You're right about it being buggy, I had issues with it too, but I finally figured out how to make it run well. v8 isn't that bad, it just needs to be tweaked a certain way, in order for everything to work smoothly. At this point in time, I have it set up exactly the way I want it.

I hope you get a reply from Agnitum regarding that in their forum. It seems awfully quiet there. It would be nice to be able to disable it if you wanted to, especially if the I/O impact is that great. Would you recommend 7.5 over 8?

clear all those logs manually and recheck, the packet log is the most heavily logged and its empty for me.
