I had to temporarily stop using ESS 5 in the past because of the external mass storage devices issue. I see there is a new 5 update finally, and it says it is fixed mostly? So I still wait.
In my EVENT long in XP SP3, while using the latest version 4, I have this: Event ID 7026 The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: easdrv I checked the error with AUTORUNS also, it says the file is missing also. What's the deal? I have reinstalled, uninstalled, etc.... Eset seems to run alright, but this error doesn't sound good. |

Assuming no malware: No other errors for other drivers failing? Did try using removal tool after removing it?
http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page...nt&id=SOLN2289 then reinstall
