Default Introducing the Returnil Virtual System Lab

Hello everyone,
We are announcing the availability of a new test-bed version of Returnil that is designed to explore new feature sets before integrating them into our full release versions. The current Lab version includes:

1. Simplified 2x type GUI design
2. Multi-partition cloning
3. Custom non-system cache installation paths - allows you to install the cache for non-system partitions and drives on an alternate partition. This is mainly to explore better SSD support by eliminating/minimizing cache writes on the protected partition. We will also begin exploring custom system partition cache installation in a later build.
4. Simplified preferences
5. File and folder exclusions while using RVS protection
6. Updated Anti-Execute feature that includes updates against current dog trojans - settings for this feature will be reincluded at a future build or when ported back into the final 3x release version.

Please use the same reporting information used for the current 3x beta. 3x specific logging is not available so we may request additional information via reply e-mail.

Your current v2x Serial Number is valid for this version. Those needing testing SNs should send us a request using the same reporting address for the 3x betas. You must uninstall v2x or v3x before installing the Returnil Lab version

What is Returnil Labs?

Returnil Labs is our new environment for component testing before potential integration of new feature sets in the Returnil Virtual System and other products as we go into the future. Lab versions will allow us to move more quickly to test concurrent development projects without disturbing our core development schedule as well as offering our customers and users a sneak-peak at what our developers are working on.

By participating, you have the ability to shape the future of the products we offer and help us provide you with more relevant and effective security solutions. If you have suggestions for new features, let us know!

Returnil Labs programs are Beta software so please take the appropriate precautions and do not use Lab versions on mission critical and/or production systems.

NOTE: Returnil Lab versions will not be continued as production versions of the software. Those features tested and found popular, will be imported into our current products (3x+)

Thank you for your feedback in advance

Mike

Hi all,
New build available. We recommend strongly that all current LAB version users uninstall their current copy of the software and then perform a full, in-depth Antimalware scan due a previously unknown infection in the older version. For more information please see the following thread:

Hi,
is it possible to implement dynamic disk caching in Returnil Lab, so this will become the perfect version?

Hi developers,
We plan to import the virtualization upgrades we are testing in this version into the main sequence 3x generation with a planned virtualization engine upgrade in 3.1

Some of the problems in this version:system guard engine is not automatically updated, has remained unchanged at 15002. Extended partition is selected automatically protect boot, but did not start after reboot

the problem of 3064 version

system gurad engine or not automatic updates, see the following picture, has been to a half-day of 15002. If you install the 3061 version, you can see the database automatic update to engine version 19063001

By the way: question about How it works: I've never seen dialog when driver load,i have Choose the Box

Hi developers,
Yes, we are adding new features but also fixing reported bugs at the same time. The current internal testing build is (as of yesterday) 2.1.5061 and it is extremely stable. This build is not scheduled to be released as yet for wider testing, but we hope to start this very soon.

The major feature we have been working on with Labs is the introduction of a stand-alone remote management console. At the present time we are testing the following console features:

1. Remote desktop
2. Remote shell
3. Tech support console to client, client to console chat
4. Activation/deactivation of virtualization on the client
5. Client power cycling
6. Group creation and group client management

There are more features to come, but this gives you a feel for what to expect when it is released for public testing.

Mike
