To see that it is STILL happening is more than a bit disappointing. Hopefully ESET will improve their product...but if a problem like this persists for over two and a half years, it makes you wonder if it will EVER be fixed!

My post now may be a bit of off-topic but I am also aware of a (serious IMO) bug in the ESET firewall. I discovered it in the early beta testing of version 4 (years ago - I don't remember - you remember when v 4 was released). The issue was finally confirmed but never got fixed neither during beta testing, nor in any final build of 4.0 , 4.2 and not in version 5. So many years after that. In my testing the issue was not present in v3 firewall of ESS - strange but fact. I never tested it in version 6. At the beginning I was really passionate and then angry about that, but I finally forgot it. I really put efforts and time in that but... Anyway, I may some day test it with v6 to see.

To be honest, this problem with the pop-up is different but my point was about some bugs. I never experienced this issue with the pop-up notification but as it was reported to be fixed as Marcos states. I don't know and can't comment on this.

It's nice to see it is supposed to already been fixed..
NOD32 6.0.316 (updated to 8286) doesn't seem to know about it yet, or at least according to its behaviour it doesn't.

I'm looking forward to that workaround, or preferably, lets get that notification to tell why it wants the attention in the first place in addition to avoiding it popping up whenever there's nothing wrong, while you're at it.

Apparently SweX doesn't know about this. He might not believe you anyway, since he and Marcos are convinced that all of us are imagining things.

What workaround? Haven't you heard...it's fixed!

Or...wait. Maybe....not.

I guess the issue I have is already known as he said "The current issue is related to a Windows bug for which we'll have to make a workaround so that notifications are not triggered when the bug manifests."

I use W7 Pro x64 SP1, fully updated.

Same here. (W7 Pro x64 SP1, fully updated)

Honestly, it does sound like the buck is being passed here. I wonder if "OTHER" antivirus software programs are having this problem as a result of this "bug". Funny, but I "DO" know that ESET does, but I haven't heard of any other company experiencing this while blaming Microsoft for it.
