Default Fails to Stop??

This will a very 'thicko' enquiry, and I hope that someone will be able to assist. I backup to an external USB drive..... have no problems - once had to use backup in anger, and (thankfully) all went well
I am aware of a little quirk.... when I have finished taking an image, I get the usual confirmation that the task is complete. Then when I try to close my USB drive down - I get a message to the effect that the drive is still in use ; 'try again later'
It would appear that some program is still trying to access the drive (presumably TI9 version 9 - build 2302)
Any thoughts you may have will be appreciated

I'm not sure what causes this problem, but it is not TI specific. Windows XP does the same thing to my usb hard drive. I ususally just unplug it anyway or if I want to make especially sure everything was closed up properly I'll reboot and unplug it before windows starts back up. I have never had any problems from unplugging when I've received this message, though.

I can confirm this is an XP problem and not TI.

You may have the caching option of the external drive disabled. In theory this means you should be able to just unplug the drive without losing data.

To find out, you'll need to have the drive connected and running - open up Device Manager\hardware find your external drive entry, right click, choose properties and then the Policies tab.
