Default I Like FF better than Opera

I have been using both for about 6 months. I first liked the way Opera handled passwords better than FF. However, considering the plug-ins such as Spoofstick, and Siteadvisor, I am finding that I trust FF more, and am liking its browsing and password to sites somewhat better than Opera.

Both are good, but my choice is FF.

Just one man's opinion.

Make it two man's opinion

Opera's Wand is pretty good, in most situations compared to firefox's handling of passwords but I like the many firefox extensions. Not so much the "security related" stuff (which IMHO are mostly useless stuff), but the utility stuff.

I like FF too and security has nothing to do with it.
FF isn't a security software, it's a browser and a very good one, sometimes even brilliant.
Just one opinion in a very long row of opinions.

same here. opera isnt bad but i much prefer having all those cool extensions and themes available for firefox. memory usage, tho high, is of little concern to me because i know that most browsers do need the memory for loading/storing pages.

I really feel that we as users are very fortunate to have these two excellent browsers to choose from. I use them both and like them both but I do use Opera as my default.

I use both also, I use FF mainly for its switch proxy extention. Opera is the more secure browser, so I use it as my default.

Too many sweets give you cavities, the main reason people like it.

Opera is way older than FF and has least of security bugs, just check Secunia, also Opera renders way faster than FF and loads fast as well.

Opera is in an excellent browser but in what areas are you suggesting needs inproving to make it an even better product than it currently is?

Used IE for years, then tried FF several months ago after reading how good it was.

And I couldn't agree more.Way better than IE,but after updating FF to the latest version I started having lockups so I tried K-Meleon.

K-Meleon is fast but I couldn't get it the way I liked so I moved on to Maxthon just yesterday.

Well what can I say.Got it exactly how I want it after tweaking for a coupla hours.Maxthon is using just 9 meg of memory as I'm typing and seems to render as fast as FF.

At the moment it seems Maxthon is to FF what FF is to IE.

Just a few things that I would personally like to see.

- Easier handling of cookies
- Adblocking capabilities
- Ability to have extensions (a la Firefox)

I am not saying that Opera is a bad browser by any means, because it's not. I just think that if it had extensions and did not have a longer learning curve than FF, it would be more widely used.

Honestly, for me and lots of other folks I know, those three things keep me from using Opera as my main browser. They may not be a big deal to some people, but to me they are.

Add blocking is right around the corner with version 9. Its in Beta right now. As far as cookies go they are a bit of a pain at first but once I figured them out it was quite easy. Just go to this site and follow the directions http://nontroppo.org/wiki/CookieSettings. This is a good site for all things Opera...
