Default SafeOnline Free, what features work?

So I finally bit the bullet and installed PrevX Free on my dad's computer. I don't particularly like PrevX's marketing methods (though their ad soup is somewhat less vomit inducing than AVG's), but they seem to have some rather advanced technology - and the only software that can actively scan for and detect infected files on a Win2k system without hogging RAM or slowing things down too much. Even if it doesn't actually protect you when you click on something nasty.

But anyway. I installed PrevX Free, and it comes with this thing called SafeOnline. This plugin (?) is supposed to protect personal data and hide keystrokes when doing online shopping, apparently; and the free version, quite obviously, only works for a small number of sites.

It seems it has some other features too though - detection of malicious sites apparently being one. Do these extra features work in the free version? If I go to a known bad website with SafeOnline Free installed and running, will e.g. the PrevX tab in the browser's toolbar turn red, or something? Or is this stuff also disabled?

N/M looks like I answered it myself... Yes, the phishing and malicious site detection do work. Though I assume blocking doesn't, since the setting reads "Detection Only".

(And d'oh, I put this in the wrong forum. Oops.)

SafeOnline Free protects some pre-configured domains(like amazon and paypal) and also one that can be chosen by the user. I think you do get the URL filtering:
Quote:
Detection Only- Block phishing and known malicious websites

Prevx leverages its community intelligence to automatically block phishing domains and protect the user against known malicious URLs. This option is enabled by default for all users as an additional line of defense against new and fast spreading threats.

As Triple Helix said, you can get the full version from SafeOnline for free on the link he provided. The GUI for that version is a little different as it is intended as a more streamlined experience for more inexperienced users. As such it will not alert the user to malware(with exception to the first scan after install and scans started by the user himself.) If you want to be alerted you can change the heuristics settings and it will 'think' your an advanced user and then it will show you the warnings.

In the full SafeOnline version you can add as many websites to protection as you like(though all HTTPS sites have already maximum protection by default) and you can change settings for all HTTP or HTTPS sites with one slider.

Still don't see "that sticky" dealing with what the free versions offer/cover
