I wonder how much Waterfox people got for including AVG in the installation. The default installation with the AVG toolbar etc. was already chosen unless you unchecked it and chose Custom leaving the choices blank. It reminds me of all the software that includes the ASK toolbar in their installation unless you spot it and uncheck it.

That's a good question. On the Waterfox forum, the developer Mr. Alex, stated that he didn't want to ask the users for donations, made him feel funny.
As far as the installation, there were no boxes pre-checked when I installed, I was left with the choice to make. I wonder how it went for anyone using the auto update, or if it was even pushed yet. I haven't checked their forum in a few days, I think I'll have a look later to see what the scuttlebutt is. It was stated that the AVG feature might not have been included as part of the auto update.

My AVG installation had a green button already selected on the first choice, and when I deselected it and clicked Custom it appeared green on the Custom choice. I guess the set up is different in some places.

I wonder if there will be any differences regarding the AVG issues when WF 15.0.1 is released. You would think that an installer should exhibit the same behavior for everyone.

Has there been any word from Mr Alex about when we might be seeing Waterfox 16?

Try those builds if you want a faster, optimized Firefox:

These look a bit dicey to me to be honest.
using terms like "private and home build".
Doesnt incur much confidence for me.

There is a 16.0.1 version out on the Waterfox forum, which Mr. Alex has posted to test the installer. It's working well for me so far, but some users are reporting a couple of issues. Download and discussion link below..

BTW, the AVG search is no longer included..
