You will need to upgrade both ESET Remote Adminstrator Server, and Console to version 5, in order to manage version 5 ESET Endpoint Antivirus/Security clients:
Here is some additional information, that may be of assistance: How do I upgrade my network to ESET server / endpoint products? (5.x) http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page...nt&id=SOLN2986

Hmmm,
For me, V5 clients was detected fine by V4 ERAS. Possible you get some trouble with configuration. But V2 clients did not work with V5 ERAS, you had to upgrade these before. Also i get some garbished scan logs after upgrade ![]()

I am replying to this string for two reasons: to share what seems to be working for us, and also to glean any information you might have to offer US, as we too just upgraded - not quite two weeks ago.
Our setup is as follows: • Server #1 (Remediation) --> ESET Endpoint Server + Remote Administrator • Server #2 (Exchange 2010) --> ESET Mail Security for Exchange • Workstations --> ESET Endpoint Client v5 on a blend of Windows 7 32/64. + ESET NOD32 Client v4 on a blend of Windows 7 32/64 and a few Win XP The last bullet above is sort of the key for now (for us anyway), as the NOD32 v4 still communicates with the Endpoint Server and doesn't seem to give the users any guff. On our terminal server however, I installed v5 and havoc ensued. I took it off and plan to (but haven't yet) installed v4 again. And then there's the matter of the newly introduced ESET for Exchange with all of this...struggling with that software a ton. Exchange tanks several times per day. Do you also use the ESET Exchange software in your environment? Does that play into performance issues for your clients on v5 and/or NOD32 v4? Best of luck! |
