I am running windows 7 64 bit PC laptop with ESET Antivirus. I tried to download "Open Office" and keep on getting "possible Threat" message from ESET and told to "Clean" which stops the download or "ignore' Threat.
I tried downloadig from "openoffice.org." and "cnet.com" HELP!!! Last edited by norisand : June 25th, 2012 at 03:45 PM. |

What was actually detected? Could you copy & paste the appropriate record from your Threat log here?

Did you try sourceforge.net? That seems to be okay with NOD32. If you go to the Apache OpenOffice (incubating) site, the download link they use for downloading the official 3.4 release binaries is at sourceforge.net. |

There should not be any problem if you start downloading from http://www.openoffice.org/download/ which will probably will redirect you mirror sites like sourceforge.net. ( I've just tested )
Any other source should not be trusted.... |

Exactly, and Apache not long ago announced that they had re-established the support links for OpenOffice 3.3 that are at the www.openoffice.org site so that a user can check for upates from within OpenOffice 3.3. |
