Default OS update manager only gives for current browser

Currently, I have Firefox (3) set as my default browser. Whenever the program tells me "Operating system is not up to date" and I go to the option to update it, it opens Firefox and leads me to the message that "You must have Internet Explorer 5 or above."

I find it annoying to have to let it open Firefox, close it again, go to IE, and type the address in.

OS: XP SP3, 32 bit

As far as I know, accessing the Windows Update site has always required IE5 or newer.

I think he knows that, you can interpret what hes saying as a feature request to not request a page open in DEFAULT but strictly IE.
