xerobank 2...12b problem

i just loaded xerobank 2...12b on a usb stick, and when i run it, cannot connect to the internet...getting the 'cannot connect to the internet...check proxy settings, etc.' error message...
when i look at ff proxy settings, there is nothing in the 'manual proxy configuration' settings and all ports listed are '0'...
i have deleted and re-installed, still getting the same message...have not had any issues with earlier versions of xbb...
