Hi Heath,

The only item that pops out to me is this one.

Close all open windows and programs. Then in HijackThis, click on the box for the following item, then click on "Fix Checked":

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot

Reboot your computer.

You may also want to look into some of the programs you have running at bootup...not all of them are needed, and can take up valuable resources. You can find an alphanumeric index here, at pacs-portal: http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_pages/startup_full.htm that will give a description of the different programs that startup when you turn on your computer. The listing there will have either a "Y" for yes-let it run, "N" for not required, "U" for user's choice, "X" for definitely not required, and "?" for unknown.

HTH...but if you would like to wait until one of the HJT Experts takes a look at your log, i am sure they will be here shortly.

regards,
snap

Still looking good Heath.

Snapdragin is right, that RealPlayer update is unnecessary.
But fixing it with HijackThis does not have that much effect as it will return the next time you use it online.
I have been told that installing the latest version would help. (Not sure how and why, sorry)

Regards,

Pieter

It's human to make mistakes. It's even more so to blame the computer for it.

Quicktime does the same thing; tries to register itself to run at startup everytime you use it. Maybe you might like to try a startup monitor that will pop up and warn you when RealPlayer wants to register itself at startup again. i use StartupMonitor by Mike Lin, and when Quicktime tries to register itself, StartupMonitor will pop up and warn me...then i am given a choice to either allow Qucktime to do this, or not. (i always say no) lol

StartupMonitor is also a great li'l program for alerting you when something tries to register itself without your knowledge. The StartupControl Panel is also a compliment program to StartupMonitor, but you do not have to have both if you don't want to.

Both the StartupMonitor and the StartupControl Panel are free programs. It may be something you might like to look into Heath, as an added layer of protection and monitoring.
