Default Backdoor virus

If anyone can help would greatly be appreciated. I run AVG 6.0 and getting many prompts about a backdoor virus that is in the windows restore. I read in a earlier post about messing with the restore function and now windows has found the virus in C:\windows\system32\aolmsngr.exe.

I ran avg 6.0 and it is unable to fix the problem. It finds it but cannot quarantine it. I also uninstalled aol instant messenger with still no luck. I have also ran ad aware 6.0 and spybot to get rid of spyware.

Please help before i throw this dang computer away!

Thanks Brian

Thanks for the info. I was able to reboot in safe mode and final delete the aol msngr file. So far so good.

I now have a question about run time errors. I keep getting them that say object blocked or blocked referral and it wants me to debug but I dont know what that means.

Thanks again.

Brian
