Hello,
I'm a new member. I'm sorry, my English is not very good. I wonder why, with NOD32 Antivirus v3, XP SP3 is the process Egui (2Mo +-) and EKRN (40MB !!!). I thought it was only for Eset Smart Security EKRN the process and not for NOD32 Antivirus ? With Vista, I have only the process EGUI, which is normal. And why are there 2 processes with XP SP3 (EGUI + EKRN) ? Thank you. ![]() |

So NOD32 Antivirus uses 40MB + 2MB? It is quite a lot, isn't it ?

Hello,
The EGUI program is the graphic user interface, the part of the program with which you interace. The EKRN program is the service (background process) which contains the actual scanning engine. You can try installing the public beta test version of ESET NOD32 Antivirus v4.0 from http://beta.eset.com/ and see if that makes any difference in memory consumption. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
