Default Anti-trojan test

One of our afilliates has performed a new anti-trojan test - unfortunately it's German Language only - A translater might come in handy here:

www.rokopsecurity.de/main/article.php?sid=294&mode=thread&order=0

As ever, I'll leave it up to all to draw conclusions - or not. It's just "another" test.

regards.

It would have been good to have seen BOClean listed. The table shows a good case for multiple, overlapping defences.

I'm afraid that will not happen, due to some "problems" between PSC/BOClean and the testers. Before you ask: I will not elaborate on that one!

PSC is the producer of BOClean. Rokop (the tester) got a copy of ANTS 3.0. Don't ask me why he didn't test it :o).

Yes, I like this test, the results are good for TDS-3, and TH which to be honest is what I expected, to bad BOClean, is not tested, it would also do well.

100% opposite of PcFlanks results, as far as where Tauscan placed. I would like to see more tests, like this, where the AT is allowed to use it's full capabilities to detect the Trojan, not just a file scan, but the Trojan is activated.

Also can some tell me what the last tests are? TH looks like it got a no but I don't know what they mean.

Hi Vamp,

and welcome back.

Indeed Roman did perform quite a different test than PCFlank has - the one I described as "rubbish". Rokop has performed sortalike test before - and most probably will keep on doing so. As stated before, it's up to everyone to read this particular test as s/he wants to. Fact is indeed, it's a far more reliable test than PCFlank has performed.

As for your question:

monitor wird gekillt = resident running guard will be killed;
haupt.prog wird gekillt = the software itself will be put out of business.

regards,

paul

Hey looks like PC DoorGuard is coming on strong with a good solid fifth place showing.
Ideally suited for a person such as my Mother. She does not use the internet, uses Juno for email and plays solitaire all day long. He he.
Sorry, couldn't resist.

It is a little bit unfair to test unfinished products. Release Ants 3.0 and you'll get your review.

I AGREE it has been a couple weeks since we were informed
ANTS 3.0 BETA could be released to testers.
What happened?

Over a month ago I heard through the grapevine TDS-4, ANTS 3.0
and a new version of LockDown were comming soon to a theater
near you....
I am now wondering if all are just waiting for the other to unveil their product first... The paranoia is creaping up again........

3 of 5 developers of ANTS 3.0 are pupils and they have holydays now. Tobias for example is in spain for a few weeks. So just wait a little bit.

At the moment ANTS 3.0 release candidate is stable on windows nt based systems. There are a few problems with the system firewall under windows 9x. The bugs will be fixed as soon all developers are back from them journeys.

At the moment the neural network of ANTS 3 is trained. ANTS 3 uses this neural network to detect new malware.

I am sure everybody here will be happy to hear all is going well
and will now wait patiently for ANTS 3.0 to be BETA tested.

Yes, I'm pleased too, with these results, Vamp!!
