I'd like to "piggy-back" this thread.
I too, have backed my computer for the first time, although I backed it up to an external hard drive. (Western Digital, My Book, 250 GB) In addition to the questions to OP asked, I have a couple more. 1. When I tried to do a second complete backup, I received an error message, "Disk is full. You must free additional disk space to continue. You can either empty the Recycle Bin or delete old data files. Please press Retry to try again or press Cancel to cancel the operation and stop.: Retry/Cancel" I am using a new notebook with 220 GB hard drive and Windows Vista OS. I am also using Acronis TI 10. When I checked the WD Hard drive, I read, "748 MB Free of 15.7 GB" How can I run out of space so soon? I was hoping to continually backup my computer on a daily or weekly basis. Is it have to do with the way I setup TI? I chose to have the whole hard drive available for backup. Thanks |

You probably should have started a new thread but: What is the total used space on the notebook? Is it around the 15GB number? What program is reporting the 15.7 GB number it obviously is screwy if you have a 250G drive with one image backup on it? You didn't do a clone instead of an image did you? |

I am using the Windows Explorer on my notebook to gather the information you're requesting. Acccording to Windows Explorer, I have two hard drives on my notebook. One reads 61.2 GB Free of 91.6 GB. The other one reads, 111 GB Free of 111 GB. It is the notebook's Windows Explorer that I used to report the 15.7 GB number. Clone vs Image. What is the diference? How do I tell?
