Hi All,
The limited beta testing phase for RSS 2012 had started. If you have not already signed up to be a tester and still want to try the new build, please let us know with a request to support (dash) tech (at) returnil (dot) com. Also note that we are including specific issue resolution testing with this build and updates going forward. If you are a current user/customer with an unresolved issue with the current 3.2x generation, please let us know and we will send you the appropriate program download link and instructions/change log. Of note here is the fact that the testing at this phase will require using the Trail license option in the program interface. For those seeking to test against unresolved 3.2x issues, please note that we will provide continuation licensing for your unused time on the 3.2x license. The new 3.3x build can be installed over an existing 3.2x client, but the license/registration information will not be carried over to the 3.3x upgrade. Those testing will get a free one year license as thanks for your feedback and those with current 3.2x licensing will receive the same 1 year license if your current subscription period is less than a year or for the remaining time for multi-year customers with the appropriate upgrade seating as required. I am interested to beta test and I noticed that I can install it over the top of 3.2x, but can the final version of 3.3x be installed over beta 3.3x? Also interested in changelog.

Hi pliskin and skudo12,
The change log at the moment is as follows: Quote:

Yes, you will be able to install the final over the beta builds. One note here is that the current 3.2x License keys will not work or carry over to 3.3x even though you can upgrade from 3.2x to 3.3x in place. When released as a final, Beta testers will get a free one year license for 3.3x as thanks for their feedback. Those testers who are current customers will get the same if their current licensing is less than a year OR a new 3.3x license that takes into account their remaining time on a multi-year license. Snapshotting? Is it the same as Rollback RX?

NO - it is based on our virtualization technology and was tested in the Returnil Multi-Snapshot Utility beta. See the threads in this forum regarding the RMSE (RMSU) for general information about the approach. Mike |

- How shall we report ?
- Coming from 2011 3.2.12918.5857-REL14, I miss the possibility to work with my C: drive in Sandbox mode and still be able to commit the changes at some point. Do you plan to allow such a scenario ? Last edited by gergy : May 27th, 2012 at 06:25 AM. |

Hi gergy, The Sandbox is the equivalent of Virtual Mode in 3.2x and previous and the 3.3x beta includes the same File Manager functionality. Configure and use the File Manager as you would in 3.2x. As for Beta testing results, send your feedback to support (das) tech (at) returnil (dot) com Mike |

Is there any schedule, even fuzzy? When will any new builds become available?

I talked with development and they indicate that some of the reported issues (verified) are going to take a bit longer to correct in the next beta release. For this reason, the schedule is still a bit fluid and an exact date is hard to pin down, but I expect to have an updated build in the coming weeks over the summer. Mike |

No, it's not too late. Shoot me a PM with your name, e-mail address, testing experience summary, and the versions of Windows you have for testing. Mike |
