Hello,
The last day of June brings you a healthy and rather long review of Linux Mint 9 Isadora, a Ubuntu-based distribution with a Gnome desktop. Have fun reading about my experience on two laptops, featuring live session, Wireless, Bluetooth, Samba sharing, Web camera, Compiz, multimedia (Flash, MP3, Windows video), installation, multi-boot configurations, applications, memory usage, boot times, performance, laptop modes (suspend & hibernate), appearance and themes, problems, and more. May the power of shamrock be with you! http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/l...t-isadora.html Cheers, Mrk

Ehhh. I tried it and liked it better than Ubuntu LTS 10.04. I ended up going back to Windows 7 x64, though. ;-|

Still my number 1 choice for new Linux users. Its matter of convenience.
Tried out Win7 x64 on a PC I assembled for my nephew, just couldn't see any appeal in it but to each his or her own.

Great review, I've used Linux Mint time after time and been happy with it. Yet there are problems that creep up. The Ubuntu software centre is better than Mint's Software Manager and Ubuntu's use of applets is better than what Mint could come up with. I use Mint because I want to get to business straight out of the gate and no one does that better than Mint. With flash, extra codecs, great programs and a killer interface what more do you want?
Nooooobody doooooes it better

Wow, that song just sprung a whole load of Roger Moore's and Barbara Bach's images into my head, especially the ending of that fine movie. The golden years of cheesy James Bond, ah the best!
