Ok people may rave about speed etc but at what cost to the user. ,

To be perfectly honest i see no dramatic differences between chrome and firefox.
With firefox there are no such sacrifices to be made. Its by far the lightest and is highly customisable.
The resource usage of dragon and chrome etc is just ridiculous.I certainly would not recommend chrome to anyone with a low specification computer.
Okay I meant I left Chrome for the same reason you mentioned and now using Firefox happily.

Yeah I tried to use Google Chrome but just wouldn't work for me. Like you mentioned it uses many processes and becomes heavy even if 3 tabs are opened. I could use it on my win7 pc. I think since Firefox is awesome and light I would just use it for all pcs.

As far as the security concern goes, I have enough security layers to not be concerned with security approach in browsers. For me performance and features matter most for a browser.

I use Opera on one machine and IE9 on another machine.

I like both and have both installed on each machine.

I am now back with comodo dragon.I was experiencing very slow browsing with firefox for some odd reason.Webpages with heavy flash content seem to raise resource usage also.

Firefox are releasing their updates far too quickly.

Chrome. Recently got rid of FF because Chrome is designed with security in mind - low IL, isolated tabs/sandboxing feature etc.

Should FF implement similar/same security features as Chrome I may consider a switch. I still find the Chrome gui ugly as hell and I still get frustrated when I click on the X button by mistake when I have a dozen tabs open.

I have 3 browsers installed. I use Firefox as my main browser with add-ons and custom privacy settings and use Opera every now and again for certain websites and when/if firefox add-ons could be causing issues. Internet Explorer has barely been used but it's there... Just in case.

More than 5. I test/use every reasonably reputable browser. My favorites at the moment are QtWeb and GreenBrowser.

Opera as primary and IE9 as secondary for those sites that don't work that well with Opera.

Firefox is my main/default browser, and the only thing I'll use IE-8 for is MS Updates. Actually IE gets a little more usage than I initiate ... avast, and probably some other apps too, use the IE engine for doing updates and the occasional other odd function.

I tend to have Chrome and Firefox installed. I like what each has to offer.

I stick to Internet Explorer.

4 Browsers here.

Waterfox:

- Waterfox: Sandboxed, only Waterfox.exe, and plugin-container.exe can access the internet. Internet Requests from plugin-container yield a prompt for block/allow from KIS 2013 and large amounts of the web are blocked via peerblock and ranges in KIS 2013. Waterfox is primarily my Youtube browser. It carries updated version of Flash and Java. Shredded with Eraser on sandbox close.

- TorBrowser: Sandboxed, only tor.exe can access the internet, generally my web browser of choice no flash, no java, and no javascript (Thank you noscript) this and the torification (Not to mention various other addons) of my traffic makes me feel less "Followed" on the internet. Shredded on close.

- Opera, only used for my E-Mail. No plugins of any kind. Portable installation. Shredded on close.

- Internet Explorer, I don't use it and software restriction policies (Not to mention deny rules in KIS) keep it from running but because I feel like Microsoft has ran it so deep within the system I can't live without it I leave it be.

All browsers are kept up to date.

My main browser is Opera for its inbuilt mail. At my office Opera mail doesn't work that's why I use Firefox with mail plugin - it informs me when mail comes.

I love the style of Chromium browsers (Chrome and Comodo Dragon) though I almost don't use them.

I have a hard time settling on just one browser that I like, so I hop around from time to time. I'm just glad my bookmark exports are compatible.
