Default Free programs that backup a hard disk to removable media from a boot cd?

Which free programs backup a hard disk (or individual partition(s)) to removable media (cd, dvd) from a boot cd? I'd also like the ability to verify the image without restoring first. Paragon can do this, except for verification without restoration. Any other candidates?

Paragon Backup and Recovery 2010 Free Advanced "maybe". Read through the manual and see.

The Linux-based Macrium Reflect Free rescue cd unfortunately cannot make backups.

Paragon Backup and Recovery 2010 Free Advanced is probably missing the verification unfortunately. I recently used the boot cd from Paragon Backup and Recovery 2010 Home Edition to backup a hard disk directly to DVDs, so I know that works, but I believe it's also lacking verification.

Just to clarify, Clonezilla and Redo Backup and Recovery can burn directly to removable media from their respective boot cds?

10. proceed as usual, but keep in mind that the available space on a DVD is limited and cloning will fail if being exceeded

Can Clonezilla use multiple media if necessary?

"....except for verification without restoration....."

I believe verification without restoration is a misnomer. And certainly shouldn't be used in any Mission Critical situations.

I don't know about that,

what does multiple media means? USB?

As the capacity of a DVD is 4.7GB(~4.3GB), so if your image is larger than that, it cannot be stored onto one DVD. Therefore, an external HDD or USB Flash will be a better storage for store larger than 4GB image.

AFAIK, Clonezilla can not save an image using the live disk to DVD media. It's not the most intuitive backup disk, so maybe I've missed it somewhere, but I didn't see it anywhere in the options.
