Diskeeper 2009 Pro is my only defragmenter, and I am very happy with it.
I rarely need to do an offline defrag since Diskeeper defrags most of the MFT online, and in any case, my MFT is not fragmented. My pagefile is set static, so it doesn't fragment either. If I ever need to run an offline defrag, it's just a couple of clicks to set the option and then reboot. BTW, the bcupdate.exe was a troubleshooting utility for XP pre-SP1 IIRC, and not a regular-usage defrag utility. I could be wrong on this though. |
