Default Are there any distros that support 27' monitors

I Have been using Fedora for the last three years (Live Disk).

When I upgraded my monitor to a 27 inch I can no longer use my Live Disk.
Does anyone know of a distro I would be able to use?

Size of the monitor has nothing to do with it.

Well, that's what I was told in this forum about 2 months ago. I didn't know otherwise.

Can you elaborate more on why it wouldn't work all of a sudden.

You need to provide more details. What version of the distro, what hardware, what were you doing, etc.

Here is the link for my hardware specs http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=315468

Fedora 15 64bit. I inserted the disk and shutdown and restarted like usual. The desktop fully loads but no start menu or system tray icons.

i stop using fedora after 14 as gnome 3.2 is pretty buggy i guess i agree with mrk fedora 15 didnt work with my system too and that because of buggy gnome 3.2 either you can try new fedora 17 and see if its work or not or i recomended you 2 distros

linux mint 13 (ease of use)

or

centOS/scentific Linux (pretty much same as old fedora 12 its base on redhat 6)

it worth try

Okay, I tried Mint 13 and I discovered the start menu and system icons are hidden behind the bezel of the monitor.

For the heck of it I moved the mouse down to the far left and clicked and the start came up but the stuff around the left edge are partially hidden. Does this have anything to do with the video settings I wonder. The card defaulted to 1080p setting.

This is probably an issue with the monitor controls, not the Linux distro. If your monitor has an auto-adjust setting, try that, otherwise adjust it manually. Your changes should be kept indefinitely.

Mrk

I agree. All my girlfriends tell me size doesn't matter so I tend to agree it wont matter with monitor sizes either.

Could be some issue with the resolution perhaps? Was your old monitor 1080p as well?

Hi guys,

No, my old monitor was not 1080p.

I have a ATI card and it defaulted to 1080p for some reason. I don't know what the difference is between 1080i and 1080p.
