XP-SP3 on my desktop and win7 on my laptop. Will be using win7 on my desktop when the pc falls apart and has to be upgraded and when that doesn't happen per 4-14.

Sure, why dispose of a perfectly good desktop that still works after 7 years?
I purchased a far more powerful Win7 desktop a couple of years ago, but continue to use both in tandem side by each on my desk. That way, when one develops a problem, I can use the other to trouble-shoot. To be honest, my old XP/sp3 system has developed a few hardware problems the last few years, but none I could not solve. A philosophical question: is it better to use the older XP system for internet surfing? It has less to lose if malware should brick it, but it is also a less secure system than Win7. Because neither system has ever been compromised, I choose to do most of my surfing with XP. (Maybe the question is moot, since I back up both systems to external HDs). |

And I am still using XP, but the more I run W7, the less I like XP. XP just seems (here's a technical term for ya...) clunkier.

No. Too old of an OS for the modern age.

XP Pro here on 4 machines. It does the job, so why change. The change will come with new hardware, not til then.
