No (neither one) -- they definitely slow things down. And the best anti-phishing protection is probably still to rely on your own Favorites/Bookmarks rather than following links, especially ones that come in the mail.

FF user here and I have turned off FF's inbuilt anti-phishing as I use openDNS which provides much the same service.

No.
Using K-Meleon here. No anti phishing capabilities.
There ARE security concerns regarding password managers IF you should fall for phishing / link "forging":
http://www.info-svc.com/news/11-21-2006/
Which is why I don't have important passwords in my password manager.
Alert in K-meleon forum (post #7):
Quote:
Saving passwords in the password manager seems not to be advisable at present.

Agreed. Only passwords in my PW Mgr are those for forums / non critical sites.

Hello,
Anti-phishing is a useless thing, I think. You need to be fairly clueless to get owned by a link.

i have them on and I don't notice any slow down. If there was some I would be ok I would choose safety over speed.

From the M$ privacy statement for its anti-phishing program. It can be found at the link below about halfway down the page under "Phishing Filter".

Does M$ really have to check against all the sites in your browser history to discover whether a site is known for phishing? And then M$ gathers all the browser information it can, adds the history and visited sites info and sends all that bundled to their databases just to inform a person whether or not they have landed on a phishing site? No thanks.

As it does not slow down the surfing i leave it enabled in Opera. You never know for what it's good.

No they don't. However it's probably set up this way for the masses or the computer illiterate unlike FF which has a down-loadable list apparently according to WSFuser's post..

well Firefox has two ways to block phishing site. either a list that Firefox downloads or it can use Google's list.
