Okay, if your on-demand scans are taking a long time, then disabling your AV when you scan with MBAM will improve the time dramatically.
If you don't, then VIPRE is scanning everything that MBAM is scanning.
Try it.

Yes you're right, thanks Page42....found today that disabling Vipre, scan took only 4min 21secs, found disabling Shuriken module in Scanner settings (with Vipre enabled) scan took 6min 25secs. But with both Vipre and Shuriken enabled it was back to painfully slow scans.

Problem solved then.
One in a row for me.

I'm glad that helped, Dermot7.

According to Emsisoft, MBAM doesn't perform well at all:

Notice the chart at the bottom.

Which explains the OP's slow scanning speed?

Odd that they use 2010 test result dont you think for a download today?

Maybe they should use 2011 results as they are more relevent and current

Mindyou they probaly wont use those figures as Malwarebytes are peforming better then they are in the current MRG flash tests

Working great with no problems. I think its Web Blocking is better (faster) than before with handling new ignored sites (not sure if this version caused that).
