I have defined an Acronis scheduled task to backup a drive, validate the backup and use a post command to shutdown the system. The backup and shutdown portion of the task runs fine, but the system shuts down before the validation of the backup can begin. Is there a way to set up a task to backup, validate the backup and then shutdown? Thanks.

Does anyone know how to do this? Basically, I want to know how to backup a drive and validate the backup, before my computer shuts down. Right now, my computer shuts down before the validation can take place. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure you cannot. You have to take the commands in the order ATI plays them.

Hi,
I think you can overcome this problem by changing the ''0'' in the command line. The zero in question is the time set ,in seconds, to shut down the computer after the backup. Therefore, change this ''0'' for the number of seconds required to do the validation + 1 second, for example.

It does seem rather shortsighted to make the "post" command process after the backup and before the validation, but that is what Acronis did. It would be nice if they offered the option for the post command to run after the task finished. From the TI 11 manual (it's the same in the TI 10 manual): Quote:
In my test, I ran my TI Notify program as a Post Command (it's designed to run as a "pre" command, but it was easy to test since I had it setup already). It runs as step 2 of 3 (step 1 is the backup, 3 is the validation). Once the TI Notify program has finished, the validation is processed. If you knew how long the validation would take, then you could probably do as babac suggests and set the countdown long enough for the validation to finish.

Note also that, if you have any other software that might operate while ATI is operating (software update checks, AV scans, etc) that can affect the time it takes ATI to do a backup and validation, so you probably would want to allow some slack time.
